Welcome to this page of mine and come and share some of the things which have entertained, perplexed and given me great insight and joy this time around. It never ceases to amaze me that each day when I get up there is more to be discovered and in fact life just gets better every sunrise. From the early days when silence and sound collided, I carry all the imprints from childhood through a career in New Zealand music to the sounds of the voices of my children and those of the students in the schools of Australasia.The arrangement of silence and sound carries with it the title of a seminar I conducted for the College of Education in Chch in 1996: “From the heartbeat to the horizon” and this is how music has exercised its profound effect on me all my life.
